Background
Rita comes from a background of education, initially attaining her BA degree in Education & Performance. A former musician and computer guru, she feels her students like the fact that she gives them a fun experience, and is able to identify what will help them most. Rita shows genuine interest in their individual development. Having played sports all her life, including tennis, softball, soccer, badminton, volleyball and downhill skiing, Rita has little trouble trying to find something to relate to in each of her students.
Instruction
Rita gives her full attention to every student and is proud to do so within a fun and relaxed environment. She believes in daily drills in short time frames that may or may not include balls. Slavetskas recommends students of all levels allow themselves 10-15 minutes of good practice time each day. Depending on their personal goals, Slavetskas also offers students very specific drills to help iron out technical details. Daily practice is most important to develop and maintain good rhythm and timing.
Personal
A resident of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, Rita shares her home with her "very supportive" husband and three intelligent cats with "personality galore." She enjoys any golf course she's on, and having traveled to many in her life, she's never been disappointed. "Wherever we have gone to play, we've always enjoyed it," says Slavetskas.
